Detroit Lions Head Coach Jim Caldwell Expects More from His Team

A 3-3 record tells Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell there's room for improvement. 

The Lions opened the 2017 season with consecutive wins, but they've lost three of the last four games, allowing an average of 36 points in those losses. 

On Sunday, Detroit will host the Pittsburgh Steelers, who look like the AFC's most dangerous squad after knocking off the Kansas City Chiefs and division-rival Cincinnati Bengals over the past two weeks.  

The deck looks stacked against the Lions, as top wideout Golden Tate is practicing but battling a shoulder injury, per Detroit Free Press reporter Dave Birkett: 

The Steelers field the No. 1 pass defense in yards allowed through seven weeks. Quarterback Matthew Stafford may have to work fourth-quarter magic to pull out a victory at Ford Field.
