Jordan Brand Unveils Hoodies for Carmelo Anthony's Thunder Debut
Capitalizing on the easiest marketing opportunity ever, Jordan Brand will release "Hoode Melo" sweatshirts Thursday night, when Carmelo Anthony plays his first game with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
For whatever reason, the forward has become more synonymous for wearing a common item of clothing than for annually scoring over 20 points per game. Anthony even embraced his alter ago by wearing a hoodie under his new Thunder jersey during the team's media day.
Per ESPN's Nick DePaula, Jordan Brand will officially release the apparel an hour before Oklahoma City opens its season against Anthony's former team, the New York Knicks.
The team tweeted a video of its crew donning the new merchandise. Chesapeake Energy Arena attendees will have to settle for a free T-shirt, though.
Because all clothes come with a precisely labeled description of what it is, the hoodies say "Hoodie" behind the Jumpman logo.
While fans have created their own Hoodie Melo jerseys, it was only a matter of time before a business cashed in on the trend.
