Paul Pierce Gets Wheelchair-Photo Cake for 40th Birthday

Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce celebrated his 40th birthday by commemorating one his more famous moments as a member of the franchise. 

On Friday, the former NBA player and current analyst for ESPN received a cake from his employer. This was no ordinary dessert, though, as it featured a picture of the 10-time All-Star in a wheelchair after he suffered a leg injury in Game 1 of the 2008 NBA Finals. 

Pierce eventually returned to that contest, and he helped Boston defeat the Los Angeles Lakers en route to winning the title in six games and being named Finals MVP.
