New Jersey Devils Must Stop Looking Behind and Focus On What Lies Ahead
Here we are only six games into the season and the Devils post a mediocre 3-3 record, which is probably is a good indicator of where this organization is and might be headed.
Now don't get me wrong: this team still has tons of top talent and arguably the greatest goaltender of all time, but it all might be coming to an end quicker than we hoped.
As a fan I hate to see Brian Rafalski with the Red Wings and Niedermeyer with the Ducks and Gomez and Gionta with the Habs... o I need to continue? Or have we all had enough?

Draft Lottery Winners and Losers
I just get that funny feeling that the Stanley cups and division titles are going to be replaced with 80-point seasons and missed playoff participations. The Devils swagger is being replaced by a "We are the Devils" and will still get our 90-plus points and see what happens in the playoffs attitude.
As a Montrealer I saw this "entitled to" attitude turn a once proud Canadiens franchise into a bad drafting bad scouting team that missed the playoffs for a good part of the last Decade and are still trying to figure things out.
Unfortunately the Devils do not have the luxury of a huge die hard fan base that could weather the storm of missed playoffs and mediocrity.
I feel the Devils need to turn the team over to Zach Parise and Travis Zajac right now and see if they can carry this team forward.
If not, then the Devils will need to seriously look at bringing in an impact player via trade or 2010 free agency to get though a possible rough transition period.
