Carmelo Anthony Responds to ESPN's No. 64 NBA Player Ranking

On Tuesday morning, ESPN.com placed Carmelo Anthony 64th overall in its annual NBA player rankings. Lonzo Ball, who has yet to make his NBA debut, ranked one spot higher than the New York Knicks star.
Later in the day, Anthony addressed the perceived slight in an Instagram post. The 33-year-old wore a shirt that read "Famous Nobodys" with the final "S" cross out.
"A certain darkness is needed to see the stars," Anthony wrote before tagging ESPN's Instagram account. "Don't be so blatant with the disrespect."
Last year, Anthony took umbrage with SLAM magazine ranking him 15th overall. He promptly proceeded to tally his lowest marks in value over replacement player rating (0.8) and box plus/minus (minus-0.7) since 2004-05, per Basketball Reference.
While Anthony may beg to differ, he's no longer one of the NBA's top players. Even so, it's tough to find 63 players better than him.
