Texans QB Deshaun Watson Throws 1st Career Touchdown vs. Jaguars

Houston Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson replaced starter Tom Savage in the third quarter of Sunday's regular-season opener versus the Jacksonville Jaguars at NRG Stadium.

The first-year pro may not drop beneath Savage on the depth chart anytime soon.

With the hosts trailing the Jaguars 19-0 roughly six minutes into the second half, Watson finished a 14-play drive by connecting with wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins for a four-yard score, the signal-caller's first touchdown pass of his pro career.

The 21-year-old is already building a case to remain on the field beyond a single drive.
