Paul Pierce Poses with Ray Allen, Says It's Time to 'Bury the Hatchet'

Andrew GouldSep 9, 2017

Paul Pierce posted an Instagram photo with former Boston Celtics teammate Ray Allen and expressed a desire to mend their strained relationship.

Allen spent five seasons with the Celtics before signing with the Miami Heat, their main Eastern Conference competitors at the time, in 2012. His teammates, including Pierce, appeared still to be holding a grudge years later.

When former Celtics players reunited in Kevin Garnett's "Area 21" segment on TNT's Inside the NBA, Allen did not receive an invitation.

While discussing his absence with Garnett, Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins and Glen Davis, Pierce said he was hurt by the shooting guard not reaching out to him before leaving.

"The Truth" added that he hadn't talked to Allen in years, but that changed when they opposed each other in a celebrity basketball game. Alongside the picture posted on Saturday night, Pierce tagged Garnett and Rondo and said it was "time to get the band back together."

No matter who reached out first, it's nice to see old friends reunite.
