Saquon Barkley Makes Case for Heisman Trophy in Week 1

Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is making a strong case for the Heisman Trophy.

The junior made his way to the top of Sports Illustrated writer Bruce Feldman's Heisman Five list after gaining 172 yards on 14 carries with two touchdowns during Penn State's season-opening 52-0 win over Akron. He also had three receptions for 54 yards.

Barkley is a favorite for the award, along with Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson and USC quarterback Sam Darnold.
