Derrick Rose Cries After Watching Video Tribute from Fans in China

Derrick Rose still has loyal supporters in China.

NBA teams are no longer as keen on the point guard, who will play for his third different squad in as many seasons after signing a one-year, $2.1 million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The New York Knicks, his previous employer, will instead pay Ron Baker $8.9 million over the next two seasons.

While visiting China for an Adidas promotional event, Rose watched a video message from fans who still adore the 2010-11 MVP. Courtesy of Constantine Sebastian, he got teary-eyed upon witnessing strangers profess their love and wish him luck in Cleveland.

Despite struggling to stay healthy, Rose has maintained a superstar level of popularity in China. Per Sports Illustrated, his jersey was a top seller alongside Kobe Bryant two years ago.
