Rory MacDonald 'Convinced' Robbie Lawler Was on PEDs for Epic UFC 189 Brawl

You never really know how seriously to take these Reddit Ask Me Anythings, in which some kind of celebrity or thought leader settles in on some area or another of the massive discussion board site and proceeds to field all manner of inquiries—good, bad and wacky.

On Thursday, MacDonald shared an interesting opinion about Robbie Lawler and their classic, blood-soaked battle from 2015 at UFC 189. Lawler earned a fifth-round TKO victory.

When MacDonald, who competes as a welterweight in the Bellator promotion, was asked by a user whether he thought Lawler "was on PEDs when [they] fought," MacDonald went to all caps, responding "IM [sic] CONVINCED HE WAS." FloCombat grabbed the screenshot.

This is not the first time MacDonald has suggested this. Although Lawler has never failed a drug test, his UFC 189 test results raised eyebrows among some observers for unusual ratios and hormone readings, prompting MacDonald to call the results "very suspicious."

However, this is the first time he has stated his opinion outright. And on no less a platform than a Reddit AMA, no less.
