Pacers' Victor Oladipo Releases Musical Debut 'Song for You'
Victor Oladipo put his musical talents on display by releasing a modern remake of Donny Hathaway's "A Song for You."
Before making his Indiana Pacers debut, the 25-year-old guard unveiled his first track on SoundCloud. He explained his motivation to Complex's Edwin Ortiz.
"Donny Hathaway is one of my favorite artists and 'A Song for You' is one of the songs I could really relate to," Oladipo said. "So in honor of him, I remixed his version of the song and flipped it into a modern day story of something someone might go through today in the second half."
He discussed the possibility of making a record to Complex's Russ Bengtson last year. During their interview, he noted that there are "a lot of rappers, but not too many singers" in the NBA.
