Michigan Will Don All-Maize Uniforms in Season Opener Against Florida
Michigan will commence its college football season with a different look. The Wolverines will wear all-maize uniforms during Saturday's AdvoCare Classic against the Florida Gators at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
According to the program's statement, it's the first time Michigan will don special uniforms designed by Jordan Brand, which also unveiled Jordan Trainer 2 shoes. The jerseys and kicks will be available for sale Wednesday.
The program last sported yellow jerseys with blue numbers against Navy in 1928. Its Twitter account presented the alternate garb:
Saturday's showdown will resemble the NFL's Thursday night "color rush" campaign, as the Gators will counter with all-blue Nike attire.
Michigan and Florida enter the colorful contest ranked Nos. 11 and 17, respectively, in the AP Top 25 preseason poll.
