If it wasn't a circus before, it's definitely a circus now.
It's hard to find a calliope these days, but every big-top show needs music nonetheless. Now Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather, the spectacle-slash-boxing match going down August 26, has its own tune.
Courtesy of the Killers, who brought you songs like "Mr. Brightside" and presumably other ones, now bring you "The Man."
Showtime Sports, which is hosting the bout on pay-per-view, just released a video, rife with images of McGregor and Mayweather and luxury and so forth, as the band perform inside a ring inside the desert. (The contest takes place in Las Vegas, you see.)
According to Rolling Stone, there was an original version of the video without Conor and Floyd. It's too bad no one will ever, ever watch that version again.
"I think there's a symbiotic relationship between using a song like ours and Las Vegas and a boxing arena," said Killers frontman Brandon Flowers, a Las Vegas native and avid boxing fan, in a statement. "Business of boxing. It seemed to make sense. 'Oh, you want to use our song?' We want to be in a ring too. You know what I mean."
Oh, I know, Brandon.
