After years of scratching and clawing his way to the main-event scene, Daniel Bryan captured the WWE title by defeating John Cena at SummerSlam 2013.
His moment of glory didn't last long. Triple H, serving as the match's guest referee, attacked a celebrating Bryan from behind with a Pedigree. Randy Orton cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and snatched the title.
Luckily for WWE champion Jinder Mahal and challenger Shinsuke Nakamura, they won't endure a similar swerve at Sunday's SummerSlam in Brooklyn. Baron Corbin unsuccessfully cashed in his title opportunity on Tuesday's SmackDown Live.

As for Bryan, he avenged the double-cross by defeating Triple H at the following year's WrestleMania before reclaiming the crown from Orton.
