Isaiah Thomas Ruled out for 2 Games with Hip Injury
Los Angeles Lakers point guard Isaiah Thomas is set to miss the team's next two games because of a stiff right hip.
Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times provided the update Saturday.
The 29-year-old University of Washington product will sit out Saturday night's contest with the Memphis Grizzlies and Monday's clash with the Detroit Pistons.
Thomas missed the first 36 games of the season while recovering from a hip injury that dogged him throughout the 2016-17 campaign. As a result, the Cleveland Cavaliers closely monitored Thomas' minutes before shipping him to the Lakers at the trade deadline.
In 32 total appearances so far this season, Thomas is averaging 15.2 points and 4.8 assists.
The Lakers have Lonzo Ball available to shoulder the load with Thomas out, but don't be surprised to see Tyler Ennis pick up a few more minutes as well.
