Dustin Ortiz Scores Brutal 15-Second Finish at UFC Fight Night Mexico City
Steven RondinaAug 5, 2017
Who says that flyweights don't punch hard? At UFC Fight Night 114 in Mexico City Saturday, Dustin Ortiz posted one of the fastest finishes of 2017 at the expense of Hector Sandoval.
With Sandoval getting wild on offense, Ortiz planted and drilled him in the head with a right hand. A bit of ground-and-pound later and Ortiz was the proud owner of a 15-second knockout, the quickest finish in the history of the UFC flyweight division.
That's a much-needed win for the 28-year-old who was coming off a tough loss in April to Brandon Moreno. He now finds himself back in the hunt for a top-10 spot and could push his way into title contention at 125 pounds with another emphatic win.
