New NBA Free-Throw Rule Explained

Drew Dober Kick-Starts Stacked UFC 214 with Crushing Left-Hand KO

Nathan McCarterJul 29, 2017

UFC 214 is a stacked event with three title fights on the bill, and the opening contest got the party started with a bang. A good omen for an exciting evening.

Drew Dober and Josh Burkman had a fun start with both men mixing it up in the pocket, but that'd prove to set the stage for a quick fight.

At around the three-minute mark, Dober caught Burkman with a blistering left hand right over the top of his guard. Burkman went out.

The referee pulled Dober off before he could land unnecessary ground-and-pound shots as it was clear Burkman was done.

Burkman left his gloves in the cage after his submission loss to Michel Prazeres at UFC Fight Night 106 in March, and judging by the result at UFC 214, he should seriously consider officially retiring now. Burkman is 1-6 with one no-contest since returning to the UFC.

Dober got back in the win column and has won three of his last four. The swift knockout will surely move him up the ranks and closer to establishing himself as a big threat in the lightweight division.
