LaVar Ball's Big Baller AAU Game to See Mixed Gender Referees as 'Compromise'
The Adidas Uprising Summer Championships changed its officiating crew to include two women and one man as part of a "compromise" for a Friday night game featuring LaVar Ball's Big Ballers.
Per ESPN.com's Myron Medcalf, the original crew was going to feature three female officials before being changed to two females and one male after Ball had a dispute with a female official in the team's first game Friday.
During the first half of the earlier game against Team BBC, Medcalf reported Ball was given a technical foul and threatened to forfeit the game if the female referee who assessed the technical was not removed from the contest. Tournament organizers acquiesced to Ball's demand and replaced the official with a male referee.

On July 22, Ball did pull his team off the court after receiving a technical, giving Big Ballers' opponent, Clutch Players Navy, a forfeit victory in a game at the Double Pump Best of Summer Tournament in Anaheim, California. Big Ballers were leading 69-60 in the second half.
Medcalf's latest report noted Ball said after the early game Friday that the female official "wasn't fit to officiate and [he] claimed she wasn't in shape," and he also told her to "stay in your lane."
