Yankees Star Aaron Judge Chips Tooth in Walk-Off Celebration
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge made headlines for his involvement in a walk-off win Thursday night, but probably not as most would've imagined.
In the bottom of the 11th inning of the contest between the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays at Yankee Stadium, New York's Brett Gardner belted a game-winning home run to right field off Tampa Bay reliever Andrew Kittredge for a 6-5 victory.
Members of the Yankees rushed onto the field to welcome Gardner at home plate, as is tradition, but Judge became the victim of an accidental helmet to the mouth during the celebration that left him with a chipped tooth:
Next time there's a walk-off, the Yankees should probably leave the helmets in the dugout.
Update: It appears the Yankees are hoping to retrieve Judge's tooth before turning the lights off at the ballpark:
