Curtis Granderson Hangs onto Lucas Duda After 1st Baseman Is Traded
Zac WassinkJul 27, 2017
On Thursday, the New York Mets, sellers heading into Monday's non-waiver trade deadline, dealt first baseman Lucas Duda to the Tampa Bay Rays, per MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
It appears New York outfielder Curtis Granderson didn't take the news well.
Granderson jokingly held on to Duda's leg and begged him to not leave after Duda informed teammates he had been traded ahead of Thursday's game against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.
While the Mets are under .500, the Rays began the evening at 53-49, so maybe Granderson was attempting to hitch a ride over to the American League side.
