Cowboys DE David Irving Has Nipple Ripped After Losing Nipple Ring at Practice

Rob GoldbergJul 26, 2017

Injuries are common in the NFL, but Dallas Cowboys defensive end David Irving had an unusual issue at practice Wednesday.

Jane Slater of NFL Network described the unique injury:

This is clearly not how the third year player wanted to spend just the third day of training camp.

Former offensive tackle Geoff Schwartz mocked the situation on Twitter:

Irving was an undrafted free agent out of Iowa State but has developed into a key player on the Cowboys defense. He appeared in 12 games in 2015 and 15 games last year, starting two while tallying four sacks.

Unfortunately, he will face a four-game suspension to start the 2017 season after failing a test for performance-enhancing drugs.

The 23-year-old should still make an impact as the year progresses, but he will need to avoid any more damaging injuries in practice.
