Former Michigan State Spartans football player Jermaine Edmondson filed a lawsuit against Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green over an alleged assault that occurred in East Lansing, Michigan, in July 2016.
According to TMZ Sports, Edmondson said he received threats following the incident and "wakes up crying."
"I think about what happened with Draymond every day," Edmondson said. "I still feel his hand on my jaw."
The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears shared a statement from Green:
MLive.com's Brendan F. Quinn reported an officer at the scene heard "a loud slap sound," and another officer wrote of seeing a black man "open-handedly slap another black male across the face."
Arresting officer Jeff Horn wrote in his report that Green "[indicated] that he was sorry for slapping the subject and wanted to speak with him to make things right."
Authorities arrested Green on July 10, 2016, on a charge of misdemeanor assault and battery. A little over a week later, Green reached a plea deal that saw the charge reduced to a civil infraction, and he paid $560 in fines and court fees.
