Kevin Durant made sure a Twitter troll didn't get the last laugh.

A year after the star left the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors, variations of the same jokes remain commonplace on social media.

One person delivered his spin on the increasingly stale premise of criticizing a man in his 20s for switching employers to achieve enhanced personal success:

Kelsey Ball @KelsoBall

Hey @KDTrey5 I named my dog after you and he left me. What's up with that

As any comedy writer can attest to, jokes work best when explaining them a minute later:

Kelsey Ball @KelsoBall

My dog didn't really leave me. I'm just trying to get KD triggered

One would imagine Durant has seen or heard hundreds, if not thousands of zingers about his decision to join the Warriors. This time, however, he pushed back with a knockout reply:

Kevin Durant @KDTrey5

@KelsoBall you must be a piece of 💩 if a dog chooses to live in the streets instead of your house

Think twice about challenging Durant, who is no longer suffering fools on social media.
