Lionel Messi Reportedly Recorded Personal-Best GPS Data in Barcelona Preseason
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi reportedly showed up for pre-season in better form than ever, recording personal-best GPS data during a match against Juventus on Saturday.
Catalan outlet Sport published the report on Monday, pointing to the fact the Argentina international usually does not have much time off in between international commitments and the start of pre-season.
While extra time this year likely aided his form, the club was still impressed with his performance this early in the summer, per the report. Sport noted the GPS data are confidential, but the 30-year-old impressed in a wealth of parameters, including "kilometres run, acceleration, top speed, speed over 20 metres and aerobic capacity."

Messi's last match before the start of summer was an international friendly against Brazil in Australia on June 9, as he left the team ahead of a match against Singapore. He's had plenty of time to recover and get ready for the new campaign since then, and according to this latest report, he's done that better than ever before.
