Tiger Woods Congratulates Jordan Spieth on Twitter After 2017 British Open Win
Tiger Woods took to Twitter to congratulate Jordan Spieth on winning the 146th British Open at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, Merseyside, on Sunday:
Spieth recovered from a slow start on the final day to shoot a one-under 69 and finish 12-under overall, three shots ahead of Matt Kuchar.

Woods' former coach, Butch Harmon of Sky Sports, compared Spieth to the 14-time major champion ahead of the final round: "I can't say he is Tiger-esque because there is really only one Tiger Woods, but he is starting to perform like Tiger."
Spieth's scorecard featured four bogeys on the front nine, including three on the first four holes. However, the 23-year-old rallied, tallying three birdies and an eagle over the final five holes.
The winning stroke was a par putt on the 18th, relayed by the Open's Twitter account:
That effort came after a lengthy and troubling stop at the 13th hole, where Spieth lost his ball and had to play from a steep hill before hitting out from the driving range. He escaped with just a bogey.
In the process of winning, Spieth earned a piece of history, per ESPN.com's Jason Sobel:
In this sort of form, Spieth appears ready to win the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow in August and merit those comparisons to Woods.
