Allsports says, Different venue, Same outcome for Maple Leafs
So if you are in the Toronto area you may have watched the game on Leafs TV last night. Even if you didn’t you could find out what happened through sports news or sports on the web. The game last night was a rerun of pretty well every game the Leafs have played so far this season.
Joey MacDonald got the start for the injured Vesa Toskala last night but he could not sway the outcome and ended up letting in a weak goal himself.
The Leafs as has been their script from the beginning of the season, fell behind early, 2-0. They got one back but then another dumb penalty to Mike Komisarek squashed any momentum the Leafs had been building. The Avalanche scored with the man advantage to go up 3-1 and that was pretty well it. The Avalanche got one more fluky goal off Komisarek’s head for a final score of 4-1. The Leafs are playing tight right now, squeezing those sticks tight, playing with fear of giving up a goal instead of just playing the game and getting into some flow. All their luck has been bad so far too as they hit a couple of posts again last night. The puck is not bouncing their way at all. The only saving grace now is they have a few days off until the New York Rangers come into town on Saturday.
