Landon Collins Says Cowboys Don't Control NFC East, Giants Will 'Take Over'
New York Giants safety Landon Collins is bursting with confidence after earning All-Pro honors last season, and he had some stern words for the Dallas Cowboys after Dak Prescott declared the reigning NFC East champions would repeat in 2017.
"I commented right underneath his picture. I said, 'I highly doubt that,'" Collins told reporters of his Instagram comment on a post that featured Prescott's prediction, per ESPN.com's Jordan Raanan. "They do not control the [NFC] East. It's over with. We're going to have a run for it. I mean, they're not going to win, I can tell you that much. We're definitely going to take over."

The Giants (11-5) finished two games back of the Cowboys a year ago, but they have plenty of reasons to be optimistic with a fresh slate on the horizon.
Not only is Big Blue returning last year's second-ranked secondary and 11th-ranked front-seven, according to Pro Football Focus, but their offense is primed to make a leap forward after signing Brandon Marshall to complement Odell Beckham Jr. on the outside.
But in order to take some pressure off Eli Manning and the Giants' passing game, Paul Perkins and the rest of New York's backfield will have to step up a season after averaging a 29th-ranked 88.3 rushing yards per game.
If the Giants can harness more offensive balance and continue to operate as one of the NFL's top defenses, it wouldn't be surprising to see them leapfrog the Cowboys and re-emerge as the class of the NFC East.
