Yu Darvish Trade Rumors: Rangers Asking Teams for Potential Packages
Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reported Friday that the Texas Rangers are dangling starting pitcher Yu Darvish to see what kind of package he could potentially net in a trade.
Passan added that the Rangers aren't yet committed to trading Darvish, but the feeling around the league is that their struggles this season could prompt them to.
The 30-year-old Darvish will become a free agent this offseason, making him a rental should a team acquire him prior to the July 31 non-waiver deadline.

Darvish is enjoying another strong year individually with a 6-8 record, 3.45 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 131 strikeouts in 125.1 innings pitched.
He made his fourth career All-Star team in a total of five MLB campaigns played this season, and he is arguably the only ace-caliber pitcher available along with Oakland Athletics hurler Sonny Gray.
Texas is currently 45-50, which leaves it 4.5 games out of a wild-card spot in the American League, while its AL West hopes were dashed long ago due to the Houston Astros' dominance.
For his career, Darvish is 52-38 with a 3.32 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and a K/9 of 11.0.
