In addition to the Cavs, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne and Chris Haynes reported Rose was going to have a meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Rose spent the first eight years of his career with the Bulls. He was a three-time All-Star and was an integral part of the franchise's resurgence, including leading the NBA with a 62-20 record and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals during the 2010-11 season.
Just 28 years old, Rose averaged 18 points and 4.4 assists in 64 games with the Knicks last season.
