White Sox Fans Welcome Yoan Moncada with Twinkies

This past March, ESPN.com's Eli Saslow explained that Chicago White Sox prospect Yoan Moncada enjoys Twinkies so much, he's been known to eat as many as 85 in a single week.

On Wednesday, Chicago fans welcomed the highly touted 22-year-old with what could be the start of a new tradition. 

Moncada made his official MLB debut in Wednesday's home game versus the Los Angeles Dodgers, and pockets of fans at Guaranteed Rate Field held snack cakes in the air during his at-bats. 

While Moncada reached first base via a walk in the second inning, he failed to register a hit in his two other plate appearances during Chicago's 9-1 loss to the Dodgers. 

Nevertheless, Twinkie sales in Chicago are bound to rise in the near future if Moncada proves to be as good as advertised.
