Yankees Trade Rumors: NY Reportedly Interested in Lucas Duda, Addison Reed

With the New York Yankees looking to solidify their playoff standing in the American League, they are reportedly engaging the New York Mets about possible trade candidates. 

Per MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the Yankees have "reached out" to the Mets regarding reliever Addison Reed and first baseman Lucas Duda. 

First base is a clear area of need for the Yankees. Greg Bird has been shut down for the season after having right ankle surgery on Tuesday, per MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. 

In 91 games this season, Yankees first basemen have hit a collective .208/.295/.391 with 14 home runs and 120 strikeouts in 327 at-bats. 

Bullpen depth is another area the Yankees could stand to upgrade. Aroldis Chapman missed one month earlier this season due to shoulder inflammation, and Dellin Betances has 26 walks in 30.1 innings. 

Duda has been one of the few bright spots offensively for the Mets with a .905 OPS and 16 home runs, while Reed has been terrific closing games with 15 saves in 17 opportunities, a 2.47 ERA, 45 strikeouts and five walks in 43.2 innings.
