Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chicago White Sox: Odds, Analysis, MLB Betting Pick
The Los Angeles Dodgers (64-29) will go for their 10th straight win Tuesday when they open a two-game interleague series against the Chicago White Sox (38-52) as massive road favorites at the sportsbooks.
The Dodgers are trying for their second 10-game winning streak in a little more than a month, while the White Sox have dropped four in a row and just dealt their best pitcher to the crosstown Cubs.
Betting line: The Dodgers opened as -275 favorites (wager $275 to win $100); the total is at 8.5 runs, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. (Line updates and matchup report)

MLB betting pick, via OddsShark computer: 6.4-2.0, Dodgers (MLB picks on every game)
Why the Dodgers can pay on the MLB lines
The combination of Los Angeles being the hottest team in baseball and three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw (14-2, 2.18 ERA) going to the mound seems to make a play on them a no-brainer.
Kershaw has not pitched since earning a complete-game victory against the Kansas City Royals prior to the MLB All-Star break, allowing two runs and six hits with no walks and 13 strikeouts. The most amazing part may have been his ability to turn in that performance while throwing less than 100 pitches.
Why the White Sox can pay on the MLB lines
The Dodgers will lose again this season, that is an absolute lock. Whether Chicago will be the one to beat them and end their winning streak remains to be seen, but the payoff might be worth it in this spot.
The White Sox will send Miguel Gonzalez (4-8, 5.15) to the hill opposite Kershaw, and he has dropped eight of his last nine starts. However, six of those outings took place on the road, and Gonzalez is 3-2 in five starts at home with a respectable 3.98 ERA. Opponents are hitting .244 against him there too.
Smart betting pick
It is difficult to make a case for Chicago here, but it is also hard to advocate a pick on Los Angeles considering the price is so high.
Instead, consider taking the under with Kershaw going for the Dodgers since the White Sox have struggled to score at times. The under is 5-1-1 in Los Angeles' last seven interleague games and 4-2 in Chicagoโs past six in that situation as well. Look for Kershaw to win a low-scoring affair.
MLB betting trends
Los Angeles is 6-1 in its last seven games on the road.
Chicago is 1-7 in its last eight games.
The total has gone over in four of Chicago's last six games at home.
