4-Star PF Prospect Race Thompson Commits to Indiana over Minnesota, Iowa State
Race Thompson announced Sunday he committed to the Indiana Hoosiers:
Thompson is the No. 71 player in the 2018 recruiting class and the 17th-best power forward, according to Scout. He's also the best PF in Minnesota and fourth at his position in the Midwest region.

Thompson may be helping the Hoosiers earlier than expected. TheHoosier.com's Jordan Wells reported Thompson plans to reclassify to 2017 and redshirt:
Thompson is the first commitment of the Archie Miller era since Miller succeeded Tom Crean as head coach in March.
Jeremy Miller, who coaches Thompson in AAU, praised the work of Miller and his staff during the recruiting process.
"The coaching staff, they did a great job recruiting him for the short time they were at IU," he said, per Scout's Evan Daniels. "They made Race a priority and made him feel really wanted. The other thing that jumped out to him, was it was evident they have a great fanbase and facilities."
Last July, Daniels provided a brief snapshot of Thompson's game: "Thompson has a good set of hands and nice touch around the basket. He can score with his back to the rim with hooks or back down defenders for strong, tough finishes. But he's also capable of facing up for mid- to long-range jump shots."
Indiana lost three of its top four leading scorers from last year: Thomas Bryant, James Blackmon Jr. and OG Anunoby. Getting Thompson a year earlier than expected would be a great boost for Miller ahead of his first year on the sideline for the Hoosiers.
