Snoop Dogg Makes Debut as UFC Commentator for Dana White's 'Contender Series'
Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series made its debut on UFC Fight Pass Wednesday evening, and if you tuned in, you likely heard a new commentary duo.
Dan Hellie called the action with Yves Edwards. But it was the alternate commentary webcast you should have been watching. The UFC also had "SnoopCast" featuring the man himself, Snoop Dogg, alongside Urijah Faber.
SnoopCast was everything you could want. It opened with Snoop and Faber drinking—you guessed it—gin and juice. Along the way, Snoop provided his insight on the action and even got the "green light" to do what he's best known for—smoke.
But the best moment came in the main event.
Kurt Holobaugh defeated Matt Bessette by first-round knockout. Did we get a "It's all over!" call? No. Snoop began to sing "Ring Around the Rosie" during the replay so that he could time up the climax of the song with Bessette crashing to the canvas.
Amazing. We can't wait to hear more of Snoop's quips join the all-time greats as the best broadcasting calls in sports history.
