Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Transfer Reportedly Offered to Chelsea for £70M

Chelsea have reportedly been offered the chance to buy Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for £70 million.

The report came from Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol:

Solhekol reported in May that Aubameyang wanted to move on from BVB this summer.

Aubameyang racked up 40 goals in all competitions last season in 46 appearances and has scored 120 in 189 games for Dortmund since joining in 2013, as well as providing 33 assists.

Squawka Football gave some insight into his ruthless chance conversion in the Bundesliga:

He's among the most prolific strikers in European football, and he'd be a healthy upgrade even on Diego Costa, so he'd be an ideal buy to strengthen the Blues ahead of their Premier League title defence and return to the UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea may not be able to match the lucrative offers he has likely received from the Chinese Super League, but Aubameyang only turned 28 last month and still has a number of years left at the top level, and remaining in Europe would give him the chance to continue competing for top honours.

AC Milan are a sleeping giant in Italian football and look to be doing their best to rectify that this summer with the captures of Hakan Calhanoglu, Mateo Musacchio, Franck Kessie and Ricardo Rodriguez, so they would be an exciting project to join.

However, unlike Chelsea—who are in an excellent position under manager Antonio Conte and look set to improve even further under himthey can't offer Champions League football for at least a year.

As such, the Blues stand a strong chance of landing him. In today's market, even at £70 million he should be considered a must-buy if he's available.
