Antonio Rudiger Reportedly Arrives in London Ahead of Chelsea Transfer from Roma

Roma defender Antonio Rudiger reportedly landed in London on Tuesday to complete a £36 million transfer to Chelsea. 

According to John Cross of The Mirror, the Germany international has chosen the Premier League champions over of a potential switch to Manchester City.

Cross wrote: "Rudiger is due to undergo a medical before completing a deal, which is made up of £31 million plus £5 million in add-ons."

The centre-back was recently victorious with his country at the FIFA Confederations Cup as they defeated Chile 1-0 in the final in Russia on Sunday.

At 24, Rudiger is still developing, but he has established himself as one of Serie A's best defenders.

The German appeared 31 times for Roma in Serie A and Europe last season, per WhoScored.com, and his signature will provide Chelsea with a commanding presence after the exit of John Terry.
