Manny Pacquiao Congratulates Jeff Horn on Controversial Win in Instagram Post

Gianni VerschuerenJul 2, 2017

Manny Pacquiao took to Instagram to congratulate Jeff Horn on his controversial unanimous-decision win in their WBO welterweight title bout Sunday.

The Filipino slugger also thanked his fans for supporting him:

Horn survived a 12-round battle with the 38-year-old and came out ahead on all three scorecards, extending his record to 17-0-1. Few fans and pundits who watched the fight expected the Australian to win, however, leading to plenty of outcry on social media.

As ODDSbible shared, the post-fight statistics painted a one-sided picture:

Horn showed a remarkable chin and plenty of grit, however, particularly in the ninth round, when Pac-Man knocked him down and seemed to be on the verge of ending the fight.

It's easily the biggest win of the 29-year-old's career, who came out of nowhere to win the WBO strap. As Brian Mazique of Forbes reported, Pac-Man secured a rematch clause before the bout, so the two are likely to meet again before the end of the year.
