Dave Roberts Suspended 1 Game for Role in Altercation with Padres' Andy Green
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts earned a one-game suspension for the altercation with the San Diego Padres Friday, per Chris Cotillo of SB Nation.
After a discussion with the umpires, Roberts pushed Padres manager Andy Green, leading to a clearing of the benches for both squads. Both managers were ejected.
The altercation started when Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood took exception to Padres baserunner Jose Pirela. After a slight argument, both benches were warned and the umpires used the opportunity to discuss the situation with the managers.

When Green was walking away, Roberts followed and escalated the situation. After the game, he discussed what happened, per AJ Cassavell of MLB.com:
"There were some things that Andy directed at our player, and at some point I took exception. So I thought it was excessive, and I got emotional. As an opposing manager, to talk about the situation and agree or disagree with how the umpires handle it—that's his opinion. But when you start pointed comments about a player, then I think I've got a problem with it."
Los Angeles was already up 4-0 at the time of the incident and left with a 10-4 win. The series will continue Saturday night at 10:10 p.m. ET.
