Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Fabinho and Ivan Perisic
Mooted Manchester United transfer target Fabinho has reportedly agreed terms with Paris Saint-Germain, despite the latter having a bid worth โฌ45 million rejected by the player's club, AS Monaco.
Goal's Loic Tanziย detailed PSG's initial offer for the versatile Brazilian: "Monaco have rebuffed that approach and are understood to be reluctant to do business with a domestic rival."
However, as Tanzi also pointed out, the player is keen on a move to Monaco's Ligue 1 foes: "The 23-year-old is understood to have already agreed a contract with PSG and is now waiting on Monaco to reach a compromise."

The idea Fabinho has already agreed terms with PSG will come as a blow for United, who have been heavily linked with the player in recent days. In fact, United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly enamoured with Fabinho's ability to act as a holding midfielder or play right-back, according to Jack Pitt-Brooke of The Independent.
There is no doubt Fabinho would be an asset if United could get a deal done. He was a terrific workhorse during Monaco's title success last season.
His ability to operate at the base of midfield would be welcomed byย Mourinho, who is seeking new options in deep areas. United were interested inย Tottenham Hotspur's Eric Dier, AS Roma's Radja Nainggolan and Nemanja Matic of Premier League champions Chelsea, per Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph.
In terms of playing right-back, United could make the 23-year-old Fabinho the obvious successor to the 31-year-old Antonio Valencia. However, it looks increasingly likely United will have to enter a bidding war if Mourinho is determined to land Fabinho.

It may not be worth it given how much Mourinho's squad could use more prolific options up front.
Inter Milan Winger Ready to Force United Move
One target Mourinho may have an easier time securing is Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic. In fact, United are prepared to offer Italian full-back Matteo Darmian to Inter to make a deal happen, per Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t David Wright of theย Daily Express).
Di Marzio has reported United's bid of ยฃ34 million isn't enough for Perisic, and Darmian could be used to make up the difference. However, the Red Devils may not need to give up the defender if the Croatianย forces his way out of Inter.

The 28-year-old reportedly intends to push through a move to Old Trafford now the Nerazzurri no longer need to sell him to meet financial fair play requirements.
Goal's Kris Voakesย detailed how Inter met FFP standards without selling Perisic: "The Nerazzurri believe they have managed to stave off sanctions by UEFA thanks to a number of smaller deals which have raised the โฌ30 million they needed by the June 30 deadline, cancelling out the immediate need to offload Perisic."
As Voakes pointed out, United want to sign Perisicย but for less than the โฌ45 million Inter are demanding for the Croatia international. It could happen if the player forces the issue, per Voakes: "Andย Goalย understands his new negotiator, Fali Ramadani, has been given orders to take a far more aggressive approach in helping the 28-year-old to make a move this summer, leaving United in a healthy bargaining position when it comes to a transfer fee."
United don't want to pay more than โฌ30 million, according to Voakes. Offering Darmian to sweeten the deal looks like the ideal compromise in this situation.

The full-back may have played well toward the end of last season, but he still looks unlikely to be a regular in Mourinho's preferred starting XI in the new campaign.
It also appears unlikely Fabinho will be involved, withย PSGย circling.
