Report: MLB Vet Unretires After 1 Day
A 26-year-old right-hander, Luke has spent more than four years in the Royals' minor league system. Kansas City selected him out of Northwestern in the sixth round of the 2013 draft, and he has appeared in 33 games at Triple-A since the start of 2016. ย ย ย ย ย
In 14 games with the Omaha Storm Chasers this season, Luke has a 3.83 ERA with 71 hits allowed and 77 strikeouts in 82.1 innings.ย
John, who has managed the Red Sox since 2013, pitched for three teams in eight MLB seasons from 1987-96, with two missed years in 1991-92 because of injuries. He had a 4.56 ERA with 355 strikeouts in 698.2 innings with the Cleveland Indians, California Angels and Detroit Tigers.ย
