Umpire Joe West Hit by Ball Thrown from Stands in Brewers-Marlins Game

First base umpire Joe West was hit in the head by a baseball thrown from the stands at Miller Park during the Milwaukee Brewers' game against the Miami Marlins on Friday night. 

According to ESPN.com news services, play was briefly stopped in the bottom of the fourth inning so West could discuss the incident with the game's other umpires and security personnel, but play proceeded as planned after the slight delay. 

Marlins pitcher Brad Ziegler voiced his displeasure with the fan's actions on Twitter: 

It has yet to be reported if anyone has been disciplined.
