Chicago Cubs, Cavaliers Owner Dan Gilbert Visit Trump at White House

Apparently, one trip to the White House wasn't enough for the 2016 World Series champion Chicago Cubs.

After President Barack Obama honored the team in January before leaving office, the squad returned Wednesday to see President Donald Trump while in town to play the Washington Nationals. 

While the meeting began in the Roosevelt Room, Trump took the whole group into the Oval Office:

It got a bit crowded around the president's desk, but he was still honored with a ceremonial jersey, as captured by press secretary Sean Spicer:

When you win the organization's first World Series title since 1908, it appears plenty of people want to get in on the celebration.

Even Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert showed up, as shown by Josh Frydman of WGN News:

The Cubs ownership and management were in full attendance on this second trip, although not all the players were in attendance this time around. Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports noted it was a voluntary trip for the team with about half the roster taking up the offer to attend.

"Whatever Mr. Ricketts would like me to do, I'm going to do," manager Joe Maddon said of the second visit, per Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune. "Mr. Ricketts and the Ricketts family have been good to us. So part of that is that. The other part is whenever you have a chance to go to the White House, I think it’s easy to say 'yes' out of respect to the office and the building itself."
