Manny Pacquiao vs. Jeff Horn Latest Fight Card Odds and Prop Bets

James DudkoJun 29, 2017

Manny Pacquiao's WBO Welterweight title bout with Jeff Horn in Brisbane, Australia, on Saturday, July 1 (Sunday, July 2 for UK viewers) is expected to be won by the former. Pacquiao is a heavy betting favourite, and the 38-year-old winning by full or technical knockout is one of the best prop bets.

Pacquiao is tipped at -600 to win, per Justin Hartling of OddsShark.com. Meanwhile, the same source puts Horn's odds of winning as long as +400.

The pattern of Pacquiao's expected dominance is evident within the key prop bets. Among them, OddsChecker puts Pacquiao achieving some form of a knockout at 7-5 at the time of writing.

A knockout will seem likely to many, considering Pacquiao still possesses the formidable punching power and hand speed to beat any opponent into submission. However, Pacquiao hasn't forced a stoppage against anybody since his 2009 bout against Miguel Cotto, according to Agence France-Presse (h/t Sky Sports).

The last point makes a prop bet for Pacquiao winning by decision far more enticing. OddsChecker rates a win by decision for Pac-Man at 11-10, while a points win for the veteran is the hot tip at 1-1.

It's also worth noting how Horn has only lost once in 17 career fights, per Hartling.

Combine his impressive record with the determination and defiance naturally inspired by fighting in front of a home crowd, and it's easier to believe Horn will give everything to avoid being knocked out.

Horn has only lost once.

Undercard Odds

Shane Mosley Jr.'s fight against David Toussaint highlights the undercard. The former is expecting a tough challenge from Toussaint, a fighter he describes as "strong and fast," per Ryan Burton of BoxingScene.com.

Whatever the outcome, Mosley Jr. is planning to step up his fight schedule after this bout, per Burton: "After this victory, I plan on staying as active as possible. I still want to get two to three more fights this year after this fight."

Mosley Jr. is the favourite to inflict Toussaint's first defeat at -147, per OddsShark.com.

The same source tips Jerwin Ancajas to successfully defend his IBF World Junior Bantamweight title against Teiru Kinoshita. An Anacajas win is valued at -1667.

Finally, Michael Conlan is -50000 to beat Jarrett Owen.

Of course, the focus will be on the main event, one Pacquiao should win handsomely on points.
