NFL Bonehead of the Week for Week Five
Honestly, loyal reader, I am technically the bonehead this week, mostly because I was on vacation and had zero access to football, with the exception of being able to catch some of the Washington Redskins game on AM radio.
However, I didn't want you to go a week without your favorite weekly column on B/R.
So since I was unable to catch any of the games, and highlights were of no help, I'm just going to do what everyone in the D.C. area (including Redskins cornerback Carlos Rogers) is doing and pile on the ownership.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Technically I could have called this week’s article "NFL Bonehead of the Decade," but I'll stick with my weekly theme.
Mr. Snyder, you have earned this coveted award simply for a decade of stubbornness and stupidity as an owner.
You have proven time and time again you have learned nothing from your past mistakes.
You have yet to figure out that you need a real general manager and not some "Yes Man" like Vinny Cerrato running the show.
You need a real head coach. Jim Zorn, though a nice guy, just isn't head coach material, at least not for this team.
What you need, Mr. Snyder, is an old school type of guy. Bill Cowher jumps to mind, but honestly I don't think he'd work for you.
Next on the list would be a guy like Russ Grimm.
Grimm is not only an old school guy, but he was also around with the Skins when players took pride in being a Redskin and didn't come here to collect a big payday. I feel he could give the players the kick in the butt that they need.
However, Mr. Snyder, this brings me back to you. You are the problem (that's why you're the bonehead this week).
I know you won't sell the team—you make too much money. But you've got to learn you've failed this team.
You claim to be a fan, but are you really? As a fan you should want this team to get better, and as a reasonably intelligent adult you should have realized by now that your way doesn't work.
It takes more than a handful of high-paid talent to win in the NFL. It takes 53 men who play great together.
Honestly, the Patriots who won three Super Bowls at the beginning of this decade didn't really have great players on the roster.
Sure, Tom Brady has become great, but for the first two Super Bowls he wasn't great. He was good, but as a team the Patriots were (and still are) great.
Mr. Snyder, you have to realize your team isn't one or two players away from a championship; you have to realize you're probably 45 to 50 players away from a championship.
And you know what? It all starts with a lockdown offensive line. Behind a stellar line (like the Hogs of old), almost anyone can quarterback a team to victory. Look at Kyle Orton in Denver.
He was written off in Chicago, but behind a damn good line in Denver he has become a pretty good QB.
So Mr. Snyder, congrats! You are my Bonehead of the Week!
Again, loyal reader, I apologize for missing out on the games this weekend to bring you a true bonehead award. Next week it will be back with full force, and who knows? Maybe to make up for this week I’ll give you two boneheads.
Here’s to stupidity in the NFL.
