US Senior Open of Golf 2017: Dates, Tee Times, TV Info, Prize Money

The 2017 U.S. Senior Open begins at the Salem Country Club in Peabody, Massachusetts, on Thursday, with a host of legends ready to battle.

The opening round sees Nick Faldo and Tom Watson on the course, as well as Bernhard Langer and Fred Couples.

According to Fox Sports, a $3.75 million prize fund will be on offer for the participating veterans to share.

Gene Sauers defends his title against an illustrious field as the stars of yesterday assemble at the Salem Country Club.

The 6,815-yard, par-70 course will be a challenge for the players as they battle for supremacy.

A field of 156 professionals and amateurs will compete for the title, as Langer attempts to win his 10th major senior title.

The German recently won the Senior PGA Championship as he became the first player to be victorious in all five senior majors.

According to the tournament's official website, the event combines the strongest field in a senior major this term with a host of former major winners present.

Faldo is playing his first U.S. Senior Open and will be a huge draw for spectators.

Langer will be many golf fans' favourite at the first tee on Thursday, and his pedigree at senior level is unrivalled.

The former Ryder Cup hero remains in spectacular form as he shows the consistency he built his career upon.
