John Cena seemingly opened the door for a potential feud with Roman Reigns once he returns to the ring in July.

When asked on Twitter whether he'd consider wrestling Reigns, Cena responded, "It's his yard...I'd like to prove that wrong":

It's not the first time Cena or Reigns has publicly mentioned the possibility they feud with one another. During an interview on Today after winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 32, Reigns specifically called Cena out:

WWE has likely been planning a Reigns vs. Cena match for some time since it would represent the symbolic changing of the guard. The company has used the formula at WrestleMania before, with The Ultimate Warrior beating Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI, The Rock beating Hogan at WrestleMania X8 and then Cena and The Rock wrestling at WrestleManias XXVIII and 29.

Considering Reigns' comments on Today are over a year old, WWE may not be in a hurry to make Cena vs. Reigns happen. And technically speaking, the two are on separate brands, though WWE.com played up Cena's status as a free agent, which may be a way to get him on Raw with as little fuss as possible.

Cena and Reigns have featured in the same match on various occasions, but they have never wrestled in a televised singles match.

Cena's increasing commitments outside the ring could limit WWE's options in terms of a dream bout between he and Reigns, but it will almost certainly be a WrestleMania headliner when the company decides to pull the trigger.
