
Feliciano Lopez Prevails over Marin Cilic in Aegon Championships 2017 Final
Feliciano Lopez was victorious in the final of the 2017 Aegon Championships at the Queen's Club, defeating Marin Cilic on Sunday.
The Spaniard defeated Cilic in three sets at the grass-court showpiece in London, winning 4-6, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (8).
The match was worthy of any final after a fantastic display from both men ahead of the start of Wimbledon.
Cilic was superior in the first set, showcasing tactical focus against his mobile opponent.
The Croatian won 92.9 per cent of points on his first serve, driving Lopez into the backcourt. He earned one chance to break his opponent's serve in the first, and he took it. Lopez failed to break with his opportunity.

The two players were neck and neck in the second, as Lopez saved two break points, but Cilic's delivery remained metronomic.
Lopez forced a tiebreak in the second and exploded out of the blocks to grab a 6-1 advantage before making it one set apiece.
There was no favourite in the final set, as Lopez's confidence countered the big hitting of Cilic.

The 2014 U.S. Open winner appeared concerned as he sat in his chair, but he took the match to a deciding tiebreaker. He was excellent as the pair traded blows, and Lopez appeared the more fatigued.
Cilic won two straight points, including an ace, to make it 6-5, but Lopez saved championship point. Two points later, Cilic did the same with another ace before Lopez took three of the next four in the captivating tiebreaker to claim the trophy with a 10-8 victory.
