Utah Jazz Declare #HayDay for Likely Free Agent Gordon Hayward

All-Star forward Gordon Hayward will likely opt out of the final year of his deal with the Utah Jazz and become a free agent soon.

However, the Jazz are pulling out all the stops.

In celebration of Hayward's 2010 draft day, the Jazz declared June 24 #HayDay to celebrate the seventh anniversary of his arrival:

At least one Utah fan called the move "desperate" while opposing fans made their own pitches.

Hayward, 27, averaged 21.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last season for the 51-31 Jazz, who won a playoff series for the first time since 2009-10.
