Mike Evans, the trainer for 10-year-old football and track star Bunchie Young, told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg on Thursday that his client received a scholarship offer from the Illinois Fighting Illini.

The confirmation comes a day after Evans relayed word of the offer on Twitter:

According to Rittenberg, Illinois cannot comment on the offer since Young is still an unsigned recruit.

Evans also said Young already possesses physical skills that should make him a standout presence on the gridiron.

"Young has the ability to score every time he touches the ball," he told Lynden Ostrander of MaxPreps. "He's simply gifted with speed and unreal footwork. The kid has an unbelievable work ethic and the sky is the limit for him."

Young, who plays running back, wide receiver and defensive back for his youth team, is on track to be a class of 2025 recruit.
