When Adam Silver went to the podium, Tony Bradley briefly became a Los Angeles Laker with the No. 28 pick in Thursday's NBA draft. He just won't be staying there.

As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the Lakers and Utah Jazz have a deal in place that will send Bradley's rights to Utah.

The North Carolina product averaged 7.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in his lone season in Chapel Hill. He shot 57.3 percent from the floor while playing just 14.6 minutes per game as a reserve.

ESPN's Chad Ford had Bradley ranked as the No. 21 overall player on his board. Built in the classic back-to-the-basket mold, Bradley has a soft touch near the rim and uses his body and length well to create separation against defenders. He said he's been working on rounding out his game since deciding to leave North Carolina after one season.

“I’ve been grinding every week since the season,” Bradley said, per Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer. “I know I want to get better and I feel I’ve done a great job so far.”

The Jazz already have a franchise center in Rudy Gobert, so there's not much pressure here. Gobert is going to be in Utah for the foreseeable future, and Bradley can develop slowly, first as a G-Leaguer and then as a backup.

There's never much pressure on players selected after the lottery; they're always a bit of a crapshoot. But Bradley was a bit of a steal at the end of the first, and being taken here justifies his decision to come out, as he'll have a guaranteed contract.
